Doctrine is defined as " a belief or set of beliefs held and taught by a Church, political party, or other group. However, at The Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ we define doctrine as simply what we teach. There is only one faith according to Ephesians 4:5. The purpose of any ministry is to bring every believer into the unity of that faith (Ephesians 4:11-13) That faith is the "Doctrine of God " as revealed in the scriptures. We are accountable to God for what we teach. However, every believer is accountable to God for what is believed. Jesus promised to give the Holy Spirit, to all who believes on Him "...as the scripture hath said..." (John 7:38-39). So it is extremely important that we all Understand the Doctrine of God. Anything else that is taught by any church is a doctrine of men. (Bishop Tom Stinnett)
"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."
(John 1:12-13)
Those who believe the gospel obey the gospel (Romans 10:16). Jesus commanded His disciples to "wait in Jerusalem" until they were "baptized in the Holy Spirit." (Acts 1:4-5). Peter told those who believed the gospel to be baptized in water in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins and they would receive the primise of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38) And as many as received received this truth were baptized. (Acts 2:41)
Paul asked Jesus, "What would you have me to do? Jesus sent him to Demascus to wait for a man that would tell him what he "must do." (Acts 9:6) Ananias told Paul he came to pray for him that he might receive the Holy Spirit and he baptized Paul with water. (Acts 9:17-18)
